Shahab “Shane” Marashi was born and raised in Knoxville, TN to Iranian immigrant refugee parents. He is a documentary filmmaker known for emotionally powerful narratives anchored by both cinematic and raw visual aesthetics. He has directed and produced long and short form documentary series for networks like CBS, TLC, E!, NFL, FOX, HGTV, A&E, and History, as well as original and branded content on digital and commercial platforms.
Receiving a degree in Film Studies from the University of California Santa Barbara, Shane draws from from his unique experiences growing up with an immigrant background and coming up from humble beginnings to consistently explore some of the most complicated and enthralling questions of creative activity, culture, and the human condition.
Shane’s dedication to his work is deeply personal. His commitment to creating trust and an intense connection with his contributors allows him to tell truly honest interviews and display genuine moments in his work.
